Overhauser Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) is a revolutionary technique in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). By exploiting the transfer of electron spin polarization to nuclear spins, it greatly amplifies NMR signals, providing remarkable sensitivity improvements. Overhauser DNP has applications in various fields, from structural biology to materials science, enabling the detailed study of molecules and materials. In IMT, we aspire to revolutionize the MR (magnetic resonance) spectroscopy detection landscape by developing cutting-edge technology that enhances sensitivity, resolution, and applicability, paving the way for new discoveries in fields ranging from materials science to biomedical research.
This project aims to build a small scale ODNP detector, the main task of the project is to design a solenoidal coil as an ODNP detctor in a confined area.

Your tasks includes:

•    Model, design and optimize an ODNP detector (based on ADS)
•    Characterization of microresonator
•    Assemble and perform ODNP spectroscopy

Your work will leverage the state-of-the-art infrastructure available at the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT), including MR spectroscopy facilities and advanced characterization equipment and laser milling equipment. This project presents a unique opportunity to design, produce, and evaluate devices, potentially leading to co-authorship in conference presentations and journal publications.
