The CRC 1574 "Circular factory for the perpetual innovative product" aims to enable integrated linear and circular production on an industrial scale. Its goal is to bring used products and components into new product generations, moving closer to the vision of a perpetual product. Innovative economic systems that decouple resource consumption from economic expansion are essential for achieving sustainable economic growth. The traditional linear economic approach of “take-make-use-dispose” is not a long-term solution, and circular production schemes provide an alternative. In addition to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the Fraunhofer IOSB, Aalen University and the University of Stuttgart are also involved in the research project. Further information on the CRC is available on the website: https://www.sfb1574.kit.edu/
