Institute for Automation and applied Informatics (IAI)
The Institute for Automation and Applied Informatics (IAI) is a research institute of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) that is member of the Helmholtz Association (HGF). IAI conducts research and development in the area of innovative, application-oriented information, automation, and systems technologies for futureproof energy systems and complex industrial and laboratory processes. The proposed work is part of the “Energy Lab 2.0” inside the institute and focuses on the GML Toolbox, an open source software.

Tasks
- GIS data treatment and conversion
- Development of programming tools enabling automatized GML data format handing
and energy simulation on GIS data formats using C++
- Providing presentations and writing a detailed report/thesis of the work

Profile
The position aims at students with an engineering or programming background, the
following skills are mandatory:
- Basic understanding of and programming knowledge
- Independent working abilities
- Fluency in German and/or English
- GIS know-how would be a plus
