In 2005, a small company based in Southern Germany invented a software to connect to their customers’ computers and showcase new applications remotely. The ingenuity of the name-giving software, designed to maximize efficiency by bridging distances and eliminating travel, led to the foundation of a separate company — TeamViewer.
From IT admins fixing their colleagues’ PCs in small companies to big enterprises managing entire fleets of devices or optimizing manual work on the shop floor with augmented reality: Today, TeamViewer helps around 640,000 customers worldwide and from all industries to digitalize their business-critical processes. Additionally, TeamViewer’s most popular product TeamViewer Remote is offered free of charge to hundreds of millions of non-commercial users.
Since its foundation, TeamViewer’s software has been installed on more than 2.5 billion devices around the world. The company is headquartered in Goeppingen, Germany, and since a merger with 1E in this year TeamViewer employs around 2,100 people internationally.
